Nothing in this life is guaranteed, yet I continue to be devoted to well expressed words that tell an interesting story.
Please understand, everything here is "under construction"
Intro
I have always been a writer. When I could hold a crayon, I drew stories. When I could hold a pencil, I wrote stories.
When I don't have a pen or pencil, I'm thinking stories in my mind. I think I even create stories in my sleep. I have written snippets on napkins in restaurants, on tissues from my purse.
I have been writing my entire life; mostly for newspapers, a few magazine articles, several books and manuals for the US State Department, and dozens of technical books for major and minor corporations.
Now that my time is finally my own, I want to write the stories I dreamed of...fiction, poetry, all the things I wanted to write but couldn't because I had children to feed and bills to pay...and there were other consequences...

Work
My first published writing was a story about a woman and her cats for the local newspaper. I was in the fourth grade.
Since the Air Force moved our family around frequently, I eagerly wrote for any local newspaper as a stringer...once they recovered from laughing so much because a little girl from the local school wanted to be one of their writers...and actually expected to get paid!
While in college, I was privileged to meet Jon Franklin. He gave me a printed copy of "Mrs. Kelly's Monster" that I still have, and still read from time to time. Everything Jon taught me, brought fruit in my life. It was that style of "story" in non-fiction that he taught me that made my non-fiction writing compelling.
Later while still in college, I wrote for any company that needed a writer...I talked my way in but my copy always won the job...if I wanted the job.
After college, I continued to write, sometimes for newspapers, some magazines, more often for companies. The US Department of State hired me to write documentation, and embassy guidelines. I wrote technical guides and manuals for major corporations, and some smaller corporations.
In the early days of the internet, I wrote html for companies. As the internet grew, I designed my own website and designed websites for others.
Throughout all the various kinds of writing I did for others, I always wrote seriously for myself.
Most unfortunately, in moving from east coast to west coast, my 1995 Mustang convertable encountered a tractor-trailer truck parked across the highway! Most fortunately, the car did not slide under the tractor-trailer (thereby decapitating myself and my sister), rather, it stopped as if a gigantic sword had been shoved between the engine and the dashboard preventing the little convertable from the inevitable slide other cars had experienced. Airbags deployed, the car caught fire, my sister and I immediately fled the car and watched everything packed in the car go up in flames! The fire ate everything including the things that I carefully packed in the trunk because I felt they were too important to let the moving company take...like my published writing portfolio as well as writing in progress.

About
(~You might have to actually click on the little start button~)
I don't know if all writers are introverts at heart, but I think it helps, because we spend long, long hours all alone, writing stuff. I have a couple websites, on which my writing is featured as part of the structure of the whole.
Unfortunately, I married too young, then children arrived. I did manage to finally get through college, but not onward to an mfa.
However, I designed and defended my undergrad program at University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus. In the Interdisciplinary Studies Program, my undergrad degree combines English, Psychology and Philosophy in an approved program for my writing career.
I am honored to have met and worked with many fine writers in my career, and look forward to meeting even more of you in the future!

Having moved to a new host, pages and links are understandably not all working well. But everytime you return, there should be more to see and more to read.
